Special Features:
- Conoco Home Run Alley: Fans taking a stroll through the Conoco Home Run Alley, located above left field, will come face to face with Astros history. The home run is one of the most exciting events of a baseball game. The Astros and Conoco have teamed up to honor eight of the greatest power hitters in Astros history. From Wynn to Bagwell, fans can enjoy 40 years of great memories.
- Homerun Porch: Astros fans have a unique opportunity to keep a part of history at Minute Maid Park. Along the Main Concourse in left field, the Astros have created a homerun porch on which fans can stand to await their favorite player's home run. Also located on the porch is an old fashioned Conoco gas pump that keeps a running total of every Astros home run hit at Minute Maid Park.
- The Train: As the Astros forge into a new era of Houston baseball, we remember this city's great history and the integral role of railways in the development of Houston. With Minute Maid Park connected to Houston's Union Station building, the past has been connected with the future. To keep the historical spirit alive, Minute Maid Park features an 1860s-replicated train locomotive that heralds the opening of ballpark gates and other special events.
- The World's Largest Sliding Glass Door: To fully appreciate Houston's spectacular skyline, Minute Maid Park incorporates a 50,000 square foot wall of hurricane-resistant glass stretching above the entire left field. So, even when the roof and the glass panels slide closed to cool the stadium, fans can still have the feel of an outdoor ballpark by looking out into the city beyond.
- Tal's Hill: Reminiscent of ballfields of the past, the playing field of Minute Maid Park was created with its own unique characteristics. One of the most challenging of these is Tal's Hill, located in straight-away center field. Named for Astros' President Tal Smith, one of Houston's most influential baseball figures, the hill has a 20 degree slope, as well as a flagpole three feet from the outfield wall, in the field of play. Centerfielders definitely have their speed and agility tested when they come to play at Minute Maid Park.
Spring Training: Osceola County Stadium in Kissimmee, Florida is the Spring Training home of the Houston Astros. For ticket information log on to www.astros.com.
Squeeze Play: Minute Maid is proud to sponsor "Squeeze Play", a thrilling interactive entertainment center specially designed for our young fans up to the age of 12. Squeeze Play is located on the northeast corner of the ballpark at the Right Field Entrance near Section 133. Young fans, accompanied by an adult, can test their speed with an interactive Squeeze Play game or their hitting prowess in the Splatting Cage. To cool off, fans can indulge in delicious slushies at the Minute Maid juice bar. With the availability of picnic tables and several TV screens, this is the perfect place for the whole family to enjoy a day at Minute Maid Park.
Standing Room: A limited number of standing room tickets will be made available for sold-out games only, per the discretion of the ball club. Standing room is designated only on the main concourse behind the green line. Standing room is not allowed in front of the Press Box.
