Scenes from the 2011 Buddies Behind-The-Scenes Day:
Buddies Behind-The-Scenes Day is the one day each season when Astros Buddies members have a chance to "work" for the Astros. Always a popular event, the Astros received hundreds and hundreds of Buddies post card submissions from members hoping their name would be drawn for one of the "jobs."
From all entries, 14 members were "hired" to perform various duties at the June 25 game. Eight other members were chosen as honorary players and took to the field with the Astros prior to the start of the game.
Scenes from the 2011 Buddies Kids Club Party:
On August 5, Astros Buddies Kids Club members had their own party at Minute Maid Park. In addition to autograph opportunities, kids visited the Astros dugout and took part in various games and activities including a bungee run, dual mega-slide, face painting, wax hands and spin art.
Players signing autographs were infielders Jose Altuve, Clint Barmes, Matt Downs and Jimmy Paredes; pitchers Jordan Lyles and Mark Melancon along with catchers Carlos Corporan and Humberto Quintero.
