The Astros Whataburger Fielder's Choice program invites area schools to participate in an area-wide contest by submitting essays written by students addressing the importance of making the right choices. Each Sunday home game, the team welcomes a small group of active, recently returned military personnel and their guests to a special Astros experience highlighted by a player meet and greet. They watch the game from a suite and are introduced to the crowd prior to the seventh inning singing of "God Bless America."
September 24: Whataburger Take a Player to School presented by Whataburger
One lucky student has the chance to take an Astros player to school on September 24 through the Astros Take A Player to School contest presented by Whataburger. The contest opens in the summer and parents can visit www.astros.com/whataplayer to enter young fans, grades 1-8. The winner receives an opportunity to throw out a ceremonial first pitch prior to the September 24 Astros-Cardinals game along with four suite tickets.
