Donations

The Astros are happy to help non-profit groups and their fundraising efforts through donations whenever possible. Because approximately 250-300 requests are received each month, we ask that you follow our guidelines and provide us with advanced notice.

Guidelines and Procedures:
  1. All requests must be made in writing on letterhead of the organization requesting a donation.


  2. Requests must include:
    • basic information about the charity/event
    • a contact name, address, phone number and e-mail
    • the date of your event
    • copy of your organization's 501 (c)(3) letter


  3. Requests must be received six (6) weeks prior to your event. We are unable to fill requests with less than six weeks notification.


  4. Please do not send duplicate requests or send multiple copies of your request to various departments.

Other Pertinent Information:
  1. Most donation requests are filled with Astros' game tickets. Once awarded, game tickets cannot be exchanged.


  2. Donation preference is given to non-profit, charitable 501 (c)(3) organizations.


  3. We are unable to donate to for-profit companies -- including employee appreciation days/holiday events.


  4. Due to the vast number of donation appeals received, we have to limit our donations to organizations in Texas and our target area is a 150-mile radius from the city of Houston.


  5. We are unable to make monetary donations, sponsor events, purchase program ads, sponsor golf holes, or buy tables at banquets.


  6. Due to the volume of solicitations we receive we do not make follow-up calls about your request. If you have provided us with the proper advance notice, your event is within one week, and you have not received a response please call us at (713) 259-8000.
Astros' front office personnel are unable to intervene on behalf of fans seeking autographs for personal or charitable purposes by accepting items via mail or in person for delivery to players.
