Astros Community Outreach

The Houston Astros consider being a part of the community just as important as throwing strikes and hitting home runs. Throughout the year, Astros players, broadcasters, alumni and staff partner with countless non-profit and civic groups around our region to help make our community a better place to live.

The Houston Astros are active in a variety of community outreach projects each and every year including Fanfest, Field of Dreams Essay Contest and many others.

The Astros announced recently a new community initiative: The Hometown Heroes Program. Hometown Heroes recognizes everyday people from our community that have helped their neighborhoods in extraordinary ways. Perhaps they started a neighborhood recycling program, volunteered to teach others how to read, or even performed some feat of heroism. Check out some of the past, current and future events here.
