Join us for the 7th Annual Race for the Pennant 5K Run/Walk and Junction Jack's Kids Fun Run on Saturday, May 30, 2009. Participants will receive an official race t-shirt, two free tickets to a 2009 Houston Astros home game and much more!

RACE DAY SCHEDULE
Late Registration: 6:30 a.m. - 7:30 a.m.
5K Run/Walk Start: 7:45 a.m.
Junction Jack's Kids Fun Run: 8:45 a.m.
Post-Race Party & Awards Ceremony: 9:15 a.m.

PARKING : Free parking will be available in Houston Astros lots A, B & C located off of Preston Street on the east side of Minute Maid Park.

RESTRICTIONS: Pets, roller blades, skates, strollers, bicycles, baby joggers, and any other related wheeled devices will be prohibited.

GENERAL INFORMATION
POST RACE EVENTS: The post race party will begin immediately following the race and feature great food, drinks and live entertainment. Special guests will include Hall of Fame Broadcaster & Voice of the Astros, Milo Hamilton, Astros mascot Junction Jack and his friends along with the Coca-Cola Park Patrol. An awards presentation will also be held during the post race party along with great door prizes. You must be present to win.

TIMING (5K RUN ONLY)
Race scoring will be done using the D-Tag. You will not be an official finisher if you do not wear the tag on your shoe. Pick up your tag at packet pickup. For instructions on using your D-Tag, please click here.

5K Awards
The first place overall male and female finisher each receive two roundtrip airline tickets on Continental Airlines. Top male and female finishers in the following age categories receive running shoes compliments of Academy Sports + Outdoors. Top three male and female finishers in the following age groups receive a Houston Astros Family 4-pack which includes four tickets & caps for a 2009 home game at Minute Maid Park. Age categories: 0-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+

Junction Jack's Kids Fun Run
The Fun Run is non-competitive. All kids will receive medals (12 and under).

Course
NEW COURSE!
Starting Line: Minute Maid Park (Crawford St. @ Texas Avenue)
Finish Line: Minute Maid Park
The course begins at Minute Maid Park in front of Union Station on Crawford St. and proceeds along the west side of the ballpark toward the Elysian Viaduct. The race turns at the end of the Elysian Viaduct then heads back into town on La Branch St. The course turns left on Congress St. past Chenevert St. before finishing inside beautiful Minute Maid Park.
