Major League Baseball and the Houston Astros are hosting the 5th annual MLB Urban Invitational February 17-19 at the Houston Astros MLB Urban Youth Academy and Minute Maid Park. The games on Friday and Sunday will be played at the Houston Astros Urban Youth Academy at Sylvester Turner Park and Saturday's games will be played at Minute Maid Park and broadcasted nationally on MLB Network. This year's invitational features teams from Alabama State University, Grambling State University, Prairie View A&M University, Southern University, Texas Southern University and University of California-Irvine.
American Idol finalist Paris Bennett will be singing the national anthem prior to the 3 p.m. game on Saturday, Feb. 18th and Grammy and Tony award-winning singer, Jennifer Holliday will be singing "America the Beautiful" prior to the 7 p.m. game on Saturday, Feb. 18th.
