The Houston Astros and ARAMARK have signed one of the nation's top chefs, award-winning Houston native, and life-long Astros fan, Bryan Caswell. The nationally-acclaimed Caswell will bring his signature talents and expertly-prepared dishes to Minute Maid Park in 2011.
Through their partnership with Caswell, the Astros and ARAMARK will incorporate the signature flavors and cooking style that helped Caswell earn a spot on the Food Network show "The Next Iron Chef" and the 2009 Best New Chef Award from Food & Wine magazine. Caswell's award-winning restaurants are well known by Houston residents including Little Bigs burger joint in Montrose (named Top 10 New Burger Joints by Bon Appétit last year).
"We've always been proud of the outstanding food selection and entertainment we offer our fans at Astros games, and with the addition of Bryan's talents, the variety and the experience of food choices just got better," said Pam Gardner, Astros President of Business Operations. "We welcome Bryan to Minute Maid Park, and we look forward to his culinary talents and taking the food experience to a new level here at the ballpark."
Caswell will have a presence throughout Minute Maid Park during the 2011 season. Building on the popularity of Caswell's Little Bigs burger concept, the ballpark's main concourse will feature a new Little Bigs concession stand behind Section 111 with the same burgers and chicken sandwiches made popular by the stand's namesake restaurant.
Working with ARAMARK Executive Chef Jason Kohler, Caswell will also have a role in developing menus for ARAMARK's catering, suites, club level and the new premium seating section, the Insperity Club.
