Houston Astros Marcel Braithwaite
Vice President & General Manager, Building Operations
Marcel Braithwaite joined the Astros on Nov. 30, 2012 as the vice president and general manager of building operations. In his role, Marcel runs the operational side of the organization. He oversees eight different departments, including IT, stadium operations and engineering, safety and security, event services, guest services, Aramark, merchandising and retail operations and procurement. As an operator that likes to roll up his sleeves, Marcel is involved in the daily meetings and coordination of each department and manages the Aramark contract and partnership in a similar, hands-on fashion.

Marcel began his career in the logistics industry as a driver with Aeronet Worldwide in 1993, and finished his tenure as Operations Manager. He then joined Eagle Global Logistics in 1995 as an operations agent. Over the course of his career, Marcel worked his way up to senior leadership positions, most recently in the role of vice president of the program management office, Americas for CEVA Logistics. In that position, he managed the shared services group responsible for third party vendor services to the company, as well as large scale strategic and transformational projects throughout the Americas driving shareholder value.

Born in the Netherlands, Marcel is fluent in Dutch and has lived all over North America, including Canada, Seattle, and most recently southern California.

Marcel and his wife, Shara, and four daughters, Ashlynn, Amber, Bryndal and Kenzie currently reside in southern California.
