Vice President, Marketing
Jennifer Germer was named vice president of marketing in July 2008 after joining the Astros organization in 2006 as senior director of marketing. In addition to overseeing the day-to-day operations of marketing, promotions and ballpark entertainment, Jennifer now also oversees the market development and ticket sales departments, both of which were added to her plate in the last year. She also directs each season's marketing campaign and media buys.
Jennifer developed and executed the Astros award-winning Play Green campaign the last three seasons (2008-10) that focused on creating a positive environmental platform at Minute Maid Park and throughout Texas through a commitment to Earth-friendly efforts to enhance the quality of life for fans. The campaign received the Mayor's Outstanding Proud Partner Award in 2010 and 2008, the 2008 Corporate Awareness Award from the Citizens Environmental Coalition and the 2009 Mayor's Certificate of Recognition Award.
Prior to joining the Astros, Jennifer spent seven seasons from 2000-06 working in the marketing department for the Anaheim Angels and the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim from 2000-02. From 1998-2000, she served as the sports marketing and event manager for Elite Racing, Inc. in San Diego, California.
Jennifer is a graduate of Leadership Houston (Class XXVII) and was nominated for the AMA Houston "Marketer of the Year" award in 2006, 2007 and 2010. She graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelor of science degree in exercise and wellness and resides in Houston with her husband Jonathan.
