Director, Business Development
Samir Mayur joined the Houston Astros in April of 2012. In his role as Director of Business Development, Samir focuses on executing the Astros long-term business strategy. He has been involved in a broad range of organizational growth initiatives, which include: monetizing the Astros local media rights with AT&T SportsNet, the acquisitions of the Corpus Christi Hooks (AA) and the Fayetteville Astros (High A), the stadium financing for The Ballpark of The Palm Beaches, extending the Aramark food & beverage partnership and creating the in-house retail business at Minute Maid Park. Additionally, he works with Baseball Operations on strategic planning and salary arbitration.
Previously, Samir served as a founding Vice President of TLA Worldwide, a publicly listed sports marketing and player representation agency.
Prior to entering the sports industry, Samir worked in venture capital at VantagePoint Venture Partners and in investment banking at Morgan Stanley.
Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Samir developed his deep interest in the Houston Astros from childhood. He holds a BA in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
