About Milo Hamilton:
"Milo is in an elite class of radio broadcasters, and he truly is 'The Voice of Astros Baseball.' For the past 24 seasons, the Astros and our fans have had the privilege and the pleasure to have him calling our Astros games. Naming a street that runs along Minute Maid Park after our cherished teammate is a fitting tribute to Milo," said Astros Chairman and CEO Drayton McLane.

Milo Hamilton Career Highlights:
  • 2009 is his 25th season as the radio Voice of the Astros.
  • This year is his 64th year on the air and he has been broadcasting Major League Baseball since 1953.
  • He has been broadcasting Major League Baseball games for 55 years.
  • Previous Major League experience includes stops with St. Louis, the Chicago Cubs and White Sox, Atlanta and Pittsburgh.

Milo Hamilton Awards:
2005 - inducted into the Texas Radio Hall of Fame
2001 - presented with the Fred Hartman Long and Meritorious Service Award by the Houston chapter of the Baseball Writers Association of America
2000 - inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame
1994 - inducted into the Texas Baseball Hall of Fame
1992 - received the Ford C. Frick Award in 1992 from the Baseball Hall of Fame, an honor presented annually to a member of the broadcasting
fraternity for major contributions to the game of baseball

Milo Hamilton at Wednesday's Game:
The first 10,000 fans at the ballpark for the 7:05 p.m. game on Wednesday will receive a Milo Hamilton Way replica street sign, sponsored by The Methodist Hospital System and from 5:45 p.m. - 6:15 p.m. he will sign autographs on the main concourse behind home plate. The Astros will also pay tribute to Hamilton with a brief in-game tribute during the fourth inning.
