Who is this?
1. Derek Jeter 2. Omar Vizquel 3. Nomar Garciaparra
|
5-11, 165, SS: Line-drive hitter with alley power. Quick feet and hands. Quick first step. Weak upper body. Lacks home-run power. Does not have frame to project much strength. Too flashy at times. Actions do not flow at shortstop. Shows arm strength, but appears to lack confidence in infield throws. Good instincts for ball. May be better suited for center field. Power listed as "3" (well below Major League average). Agility rated "excellent" but physical maturity only "fair."

Who is this?
1. Alex Rodriguez 2. Pokey Reese 3. Derek Jeter
|
6-3, 170, SS: Slender build. Easy runner. Base-stealing potential. Quick release. Sound approach to hitting, makes contact. Quick hands, needs to smooth out hitting mechanics. Lacks strength at this time with bat. All the tools to be shortstop at Major League level. Instincts. Has nose for position. Born to play shortstop. Natural, easy-flowing ability. Bat is only question mark. Will come around with added maturity. All-Star status likely.
