Reds at the plate: Ken Griffey Jr. drove in two runs, one in the third on a base hit to right, and one in the fifth on a double to deep center. Adam Dunn singled in the first inning and drove in two. Scott Hatteberg was 2-for-4 with two runs scored.

Astros at the plate: Michael Bourn's infield single in the third drove in the first of three Astros runs that inning. Lance Berkman drove in Bourn with a base hit to right later in the frame. David Newhan singled and scored in the third as part of a two-hit day. J.R. Towles, playing for the first time in a big league game since March 8, doubled in the sixth.

Reds on the mound: Starter Bronson Arroyo allowed four runs -- three earned -- on six hits, with two walks and three strikeouts over six innings.

Astros on the mound: Starter Brandon Backe allowed four runs, two earned, over five innings. He walked one and struck out three in an 84-pitch outing. Left-hander Wesley Wright recorded his fifth consecutive scoreless outing, fanning one in the sixth.

Grapefruit League records: Reds 12-13; Astros 12-13.

Up next for the Reds: Having likely pitched himself into the rotation with a strong spring, prospect Johnny Cueto will start again when the Reds face the Rays at 1:05 p.m. ET on Sunday in Sarasota. Matt Garza will start for Tampa Bay.

Up next for the Astros: The Astros will play the Braves at Disney's Wide World of Sports complex Sunday afternoon at 1:05 p.m. ET. Right-hander Woody Williams will take the mound for one of his final outings of the spring, and he must have a good outing to stay in the running for a rotation spot. The Astros will face former Houston lefty Mike Hampton.
