HOUSTON -- Astros left fielder Carlos Lee underwent surgery on his left pinkie on Monday, two days after the finger was crushed by a Bronson Arroyo pitch.

His finger was broken in six different places, three more than was originally thought.

Team doctor Thomas Melhoff performed the procedure at 1 p.m. CT at Methodist Hospital.

Lee, who was batting .314 with 28 home runs and 100 RBIs in 115 games before going on the disabled list following Saturday's game, is expected to be out six to eight weeks, likely the remainder of the Astros' season.
