JUPITER, Fla. -- Danny Graves has asked for and received his release from the Astros, the club announced on Wednesday.

Graves had until Tuesday to decide whether he would accept his assignment to Minor League camp. At the time of his reassignment, the Astros agreed to let Graves out of his contract should he decide to explore other opportunities.

Graves, 35, attending Astros Spring Training as a non-roster invitee. He allowed five earned runs over seven innings in seven spring appearances for a 6.43 ERA.
