Moehler undergoes surgery on knee
Astros right-hander expects to be ready for 2010
HOUSTON -- Astros right-hander Brian Moehler underwent surgery on his right knee to repair a torn tendon on Monday. Moehler, who is eligible for free agency, is expected to be ready in time for the 2010 season.
The surgery was performed by team medical director Dr. David Lintner at The Methodist Hospital in Houston's medical center. Lintner also removed some loose bodies during the procedure.
Moehler, 37, missed 18 games from April 14-May 4 with a right knee sprain. He finished the 2009 season with an 8-12 record and a 5.47 ERA in 29 outings for the Astros. Moehler went 1-7 with a 6.03 ERA in his final 13 starts of the season.
