Omaha dropped to 1-1 in a four-game road set. The Storm Chasers built a 2-0 lead in the third, with Paulo Orlando and Johnny Giavotella each driving in a run. Sacramento scored three unearned runs in the sixth off of Aaron Brooks (5.2 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 4 SO). The righty had won his previous five Triple-A starts. Louis Coleman retired all seven batters he faced, striking out two. Justin Marks recorded one out in his first outing for Sacramento since being traded from Kansas City to Oakland last week.

The Naturals settled for a 2-2 series split at Arkansas. The Travelers moved ahead for good at 3-2 with a run in the fourth off of Tim Melville (4.0 IP, 7 H, 3 ER, 3 BB, 4 SO). Ethan Chapman and Angel Franco each drove in a run for Northwest Arkansas. Justin Trapp singled and scored both runs.

Wilmington dropped two games at Winston-Salem, with the second contest going eight innings instead of the scheduled seven. The Blue Rocks were held to three hits in game one. Bubba Starling and Terrance Gore each doubled and scored a run. Starling is ranked seventh among Royals prospects by MLB.com. Number five Royals prospect Miguel Almonte struck out three and was charged with four runs (one earned) over 4.0 innings. Wilmington scored four times in the sixth inning of game two to take a 5-2 lead, however, the Dash stormed back for a win in eight innings. Mark Donato delivered a three-run triple in the sixth. Kenny Diekroeger added a triple and finished 2-for-4 with a run. Starter Jonathan Dziedzic allowed two unearned runs over 4.0 innings, striking out six.
