  • White Sox infielder Tim Anderson to "shred hate" with MLB, ESPN and No Bully

    The Chicago White Sox, one of several "Shred Hate" MLB Clubs, along with MLB, ESPN and No Bully, will be visiting Percy L. Julian High School to encourage students to continue to prevent bullying in their schools on Wednesday, May 23rd. The visit will create a positive and motivational atmosphere that will celebrate the teens in their progress this far while also sharing messages and tips on how they can continue to "choose kindness" throughout their school. Percy L. Julian High School is one of 18 schools in Chicago that have adopted the "Shred Hate" curriculum, created and implemented by the nonprofit organization No Bully, which has proven to dramatically reduce incidents of bullying in schools. Later that evening, the White Sox will host 200 students from all Shred Hate-affiliated schools at Guaranteed Rate Field for a special on field parade recognizing the program.

Donations include $725,500 in grants to 30 Chicagoland non-profit organizations through the White Sox Community Fund, a McCormick Foundation Fund. In addition, Chicago White Sox Charities (CWSC) awarded additional grants totaling $170,000 to nine agencies providing services throughout the community.
