Brocail walked three batters and allowed a home run to Ryan Ludwick in the seventh inning. After he came out of the game, he alerted the coaching staff that he did not feel right.
"I had tendinitis in Spring Training, and the tendinitis went away and I thought it was all done and over with," Brocail said. "All of a sudden, it's back. Anytime I have to throw out of the windup to try to get on top of the ball, I'm in trouble. I'm a strike-thrower, and I couldn't find a release point to save my life."
Asked if he was worried about what the exam may find, Brocail answered, "Not really. [At] 41 1/2, almost 42 [years old], there's thoughts. But I've been through this before; this time, it's just not getting any better."
