Astros ship Rule 5 Draft pick to Marlins
Infielder Jimenez sent to Florida to complete Lindstrom deal

The organization, which sent prospects Luis Bryan and Robert Bono to Florida in Wednesday's deal to acquire Matt Lindstrom, lost two players off the Double-A Corpus Christi roster in the Minor League phase of the Rule 5 Draft: outfielder Nick Moresi and right-hander Jose Duran.
Moresi, selected in the third round of the 2006 First-Year Player Draft, hit a combined .233 with 11 homers and 32 RBIs between Class A Lancaster and Corpus Christi. The Astros have emerging outfield depth in the organization with Jay Austin, Jack Shuck, Jon Gaston and T.J. Steele, so losing Moresi wasn't a huge disappointment.
"He can run and play all three outfield positions, but he's not much of a power guy," assistant general manager Ricky Bennett said. "But he's a good defensive player and can run the bases."
Duran, 24, went 2-5 with an 8.06 ERA in 27 games at Lancaster last season.
"He's a good kid and has a very good arm and was very inconsistent with his command, especially with his fastball," Bennett said. "He's got some upside, so it wasn't a surprise."
The Astros were pleased they didn't lose outfielder Drew Locke, who they acquired in last year's Rule 5 Draft. Locke hit .338 with 20 homers and 109 RBIs last season at Corpus Christi.
"There were some rumblings that Drew Locke is a guy some folks have an interest in when you look at his numbers," Bennett said. "He had a good year last year from that standpoint."
