Astros hit record three triples in inning
Ties franchise record for most in a game

Jose Altuve tripled to right field with one out in the first, and Brian Bogusevic and Matt Downs had back-to-back triples later in the inning as the Astros batted around and scored five times in the first against Nationals starter Edwin Jackson.
It was the first time since Chuck Carr, Craig Biggio and Mike Hampton all tripled in the same game on July 2, 1997 against Cleveland that the Astros have had three triples in one game. The fact it was done in one inning was even more remarkable.
The Astros bashed out six consecutive hits after one out in the first inning on a triple by Altuve, singles by J.D. Martinez and Carlos Lee, triples by Bogusevic and Downs and a single by Jason Castro. The five runs are the most the Astros have scored in an inning this season.
