Storey returns to Astros after waiver claim

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Mickey Storey didn't spend much time as an ex-Astro.

The Astros claimed Storey off waivers Thursday, only a couple of weeks after the Yankees had claimed him off waivers from them. He made his Major League debut last year and went 0-1 with a 3.86 ERA in 26 games in relief.

The move puts the Astros' 40-man roster at 40 following the additions of Rule 5 Draft picks Josh Fields and Nate Freiman.

Storey, 26, began last season at Triple-A Oklahoma City before joining the Astros on Aug. 3. He tied for fourth in innings pitched and ninth in strikeouts among National League relief pitchers from Aug. 3 until the end of the season.

Storey, who was acquired from Oakland in a trade on June 30, was 7-4 with a 3.05 ERA in 38 appearances with Oklahoma City.
