J.D. Martinez to be tomorrow's guest on Astroline

Astros outfielder J.D. Martinez will be the guest on this week’s Astroline call-in radio show, which will air its eighth broadcast of the offseason tomorrow. The show is open to the public and will be broadcast live at 7 p.m. from Buffalo Wild Wings (510 Gray St.) on SportsTalk 790 KBME.
SportsTalk 790’s own Matt Thomas will serve as the host of Astroline, as Hall of Fame broadcaster Milo Hamilton and Astros television broadcaster Bill Brown will be traveling throughout the state of Texas as part of the Astros CAREavan. Joining Thomas will be Astros Social Media Director Kelly George, who will take fan questions via Twitter at twitter.com/astros either before or during the broadcast. Fans may also post questions prior to the broadcast on the Astros Facebook page at www.facebook.com/Astros. As always, fans will also have the option to call the show with questions at 713-212-5790.
Astroline, which is presented by Budweiser, is being broadcast live each Thursday from 7-8 p.m. during the offseason.
Martinez, 25, has hit .252 (152x603) with 27 doubles, 17 home runs and 90 RBI in 166 games over parts of the last two seasons with the Astros. The Miami native led the Astros with 55 RBI in 2012, and also hit the first-ever regular season home run at Marlins Park in Miami on April 13, 2012. Martinez made his Major League debut on June 30, 2011, and was subsequently named the 2011 Astros Rookie of the Year by the Houston Chapter of the BBWAA after hitting .274 (57x208) with six homers and 35 RBI in 53 games.
Martinez was originally drafted by Houston in the 20th round of the June 2009 draft out of Nova Southeastern University (FL). He has been a prolific hitter at the minor league level, posting a .334 (403x1208) average with 95 doubles, 43 home runs, 221 RBI and a .929 OPS (.397 OBP/.532 SLG) in 321 career games.
Thomas, a native of Houston and a graduate of the University of Houston, currently hosts “The Matt Thomas Show” on weekdays from 12-3 p.m. on SportsTalk 790. During the MLB season, Thomas also hosts “Astros On Deck” and the “10th Inning Show” on NewsRadio 740 KTRH.
