Jon Singleton and Domingo Santana, the Astros' No. 4 and No. 8 prospects, respectively, hit back-to-back home runs on Monday against former Astros reliever Wilton Lopez, helping Triple-A Oklahoma City to a 6-2 victory against Colorado Springs.
Santana hit the first of the home runs off Lopez in the seventh inning. With one out, the outfielder drove a 1-1 pitch off the right-hander over the right-field wall. Singleton followed with his 12th homer of the season. The first baseman is now tied with Rangers prosJoey Gallo and Peter O'Brien for the most in the Minor Leagues.
Both Singleton and Santana finished the night 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI.
Singleton, who is ranked No. 46 on MLB.com's Top 100 prospects list, is hitting .299 with a 1.051 OPS. Santana is hitting .286 with a .456 slugging percentage. Just 21 years old, he was the fifth-youngest player in the Pacific Coast League on Opening Day.
