The Tampa Bay Rays will dedicate Friday's annual Pride Night to the victims of Sunday's mass shooting in Orlando. Beginning this morning, all open seats to Friday's Rays-San Francisco Giants 7:10 p.m. game at Tropicana Field will be available for $5 with 100 percent of proceeds benefitting the Pulse Victims Fund (gofundme.com/PulseVictimsFund), set up for the families of the victims. Tickets can be purchased online at raysbaseball.com. Ticket and order fees for Friday's game will be waived.
The Tampa Bay Rays have selected third baseman Joshua Lowe from Pope High School (Marietta, Ga.) with the No. 13 overall pick in the first round of the 2016 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft.
The Tampa Bay Rays return to Tropicana Field tomorrow to begin a nine-game homestand. The Rays first take on a pair of American League West opponents, facing the Houston Astros (June 10-12) and Seattle Mariners (June 14-16) for three games apiece. The homestand concludes with a weekend series against the San Francisco Giants (June 17-19). The Giants will be making their third trip to Tropicana Field and first since August 2013. Tickets to these dates and all Rays home games can be purchased online at raysbaseball.com, at the Rays Tampa Store at 400 N. Tampa St., the Tropicana Field Box Office or by calling 888-FAN-RAYS.
