Located in vibrant downtown San Diego, Petco Park is easily accessible by both public transportation and personal vehicle. The Trolley--with three stations within steps of Petco Park--remains a primary choice for many ballpark guests. Fans traveling from North County can ride the Coaster train and transfer to the Trolley at Santa Fe Depot. Those who drive can choose from a variety of downtown parking lots and garages. All guests are strongly encouraged to follow these helpful tips:
Take public transportation. Leave the car behind and take advantage of the San Diego Trolley's service from the north, east and south, as well as service provided by the COASTER or bus. Park and Ride lots are located along all three Trolley lines, including 5,000 free spots at Qualcomm Stadium (unless there is a major stadium event).
Choose a parking location based on where you'll be heading after the game. For example, if the final destination is coastal North County, it is wise to park in an area that provides easy access to northbound Interstate 5.
Take advantage of pre-paid parking. Choose a parking location when purchasing game tickets.
Play Downtown. Arrive early and stay late to take advantage of the downtown's exciting array of restaurants, clubs and shops.
Budget Your Time. Plan to arrive early for all midweek day games and sold-out events.
Be Different. Use under-utilized routes to enter and exit the ballpark area, such as Route 94 and Harbor Drive.
Padres preferred parking is available adjacent to Petco Park. On weekends, special events and other large crowd games, guests should plan on utilizing public transportation or parking facilities a short walk from the ballpark.
With Petco Park ideally located at the hub of San Diego County's public transportation network, taking the Trolley, Coaster or bus to the ballpark area is a convenient way to go.
On high traffic days, we recommend alternate ingress and egress routes to Petco Park.
Guests may tailgate at Tailgate Park on a limited basis. Guests are required to park in spaces as directed by ACE Parking upon arriving to Tailgate Park.
For fans traveling by car, four major thoroughfares feed into and out of downtown in all directions: Pacific Highway, Interstate 5, State Route 163 and State Route 94/Martin Luther King Freeway.
The San Diego Padres continue to make a concerted effort to accommodate all fans, including those with disabilities.
