LCPL D.J. Hogan, son of Jim and Carla Hogan the founders of Socks for Heroes, name is on at least 5 Memorials to casualties on the War on Terror. It is on the 1st Marine Division Memorials at Pendleton, the Memorial at Northwood in Irvine, the "Walk of Heroes" in Yorba Linda, the Wall at the Marine Corps Memorial in San Francisco, along with the plaque at the Barracks that carries his name at Pendleton. The picture of the memorial was built by the Marines of 1/5 at the Forward Operating Base (FOB) during their deployment in 2009-2010. It is done in plywood, with the Battalion Logo, the names of the 4 Marines killed during LCPL D.J. Hogan's deployment and the dates of their deaths. Below the names is a quote from Abraham Lincoln "That from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause to which they gave the last full measure of devotion."
