Special Events - FAQ

Important Notes:

Similar to single game tickets, 2013 special event tickets are subject to DYNAMIC PRICING. This means the price of tickets may increase as the event date approaches, so make sure to buy early and save!

  • All special event tickets for events that include giveaway items will come with a game ticket and a separate voucher.
  • The Special Events game ticket and voucher must BOTH be presented at the game or pregame festival for that event's giveaway item.
  • You will not be able to receive the item unless you have both the Special Events game ticket, as well as voucher with you at the event.

NEW ITEM REDEMPTION POLICY FOR 2013 SPECIAL EVENTS:
In order to access a Special Event giveaway item, each person must present a valid Special Events game ticket with the Special Event voucher. If a person is attempting to access more than one giveaway item, he or she must present an equal amount of valid Special Events game tickets as Special Event vouchers.

If I buy a regular game ticket to the same game as a special event, will I still receive the giveaway item?
No. The only way to receive a special event giveaway item is to purchase the specific special event ticket, which can be done through the special event website or by calling 415.972.2298.

How do I know that I have purchased the correct ticket?
If the ticket was purchased through the special events website or by calling 415.972.2298 and referencing a specific event, then you can feel confident that you have purchased the correct ticket. When you receive your tickets, they will have printed out with special event vouchers.

Will my special event ticket look different than a normal game ticket?
The ticket itself will be identical to a normal game ticket, but all special event tickets also print with an additional voucher. This voucher allows you to collect your item and also serves as your entrance to any pregame activities associated with the event. Do NOT lose it.

How will I receive my giveaway item?
Special event giveaway items can be collected on the day of the game at the distribution location listed on your special event voucher. Make sure that you bring the voucher with you, as you will not be able to collect your item without it.

Am I guaranteed to receive the special event giveaway item?
Yes, with a few conditions. Unlike gate giveaways, where only the first 20,000 or so fans receive the promo item, every fan that purchases a special event ticket will be guaranteed the giveaway item (unless otherwise specified with a specific limit). Items are only guaranteed if claimed on the day of the special event, within the specified time frame on the voucher (usually before the end of the 5th inning).

If I can't make the game, am I able to collect my giveaway item?
Giveaway items are not guaranteed if not collected on the day of the special event. However, if supply allows, the Giants Special Events department will generally honor special event vouchers after the event date. Email specialevents@sfgiants.com to arrange a pick-up time.

If I have multiple vouchers, can I pick up items for other members of my group?
You can only pick up items for other members of your group if you bring their game tickets to the redemption location.

Do my game tickets allow me access to the special event items or events?
No - unfortunately you must purchase a Special Event ticket to the Special Event of your choice. Your original game ticket does not allow you access to the item or event. There is not a process for exchanging regular game tickets for Special Event tickets.

Can I exchange my game tickets for a Special Events ticket for the same day?
Unfortunately, no exchanges can be made for a Special Events ticket. In order to participate in any Special Events, you must purchase a Special Events ticket for that specific event. A valid Special Event game ticket, along with the Special Event voucher, are both necessary to receive the giveaway item and participate in any other elements of the event.

What can I do with my original game tickets if I choose to purchase a Special Events ticket?
If you would like to sit in your Special Event seat, you are welcome to sell your original (non-Special Event) ticket on the secondary market, such as Stubhub.com, give to a friend, or donate to Junior Giants. If you still would like to use your original (non-Special Events) game ticket and sit in your seat, you are welcome to do so, but you MUST ALSO KEEP YOUR ACTIVE (non re-sold) SPECIAL EVENTS GAME TICKET AND VOUCHER ON-HAND, if you wish to receive the Special Events item or participate in any Special Events components. Please Note: every Special Events game ticket will be scanned in order to receive your item or to enter an event.

I'm a Season Ticket Member. Do my season tickets include the Special Event items?
Season tickets are NOT part of any Special Event giveaways. Season Ticket Members are welcome to utilize the same method described in the question above to acquire special event giveaway items. Please consult your Client Relations Account Manager for any questions or concerns regarding this.

Can I electronically re-sell my Special Events tickets?
Please Note: All Special Event game tickets will be scanned at the redemption location to confirm eligibly for item redemption. The Special Event value is stored on the barcode of the Special Event ticket, and any online reselling of Special Event tickets will transfer the value to the new ticketholder, resulting in your original Special Event ticket becoming inactive and not valid for item redemption. With that said, it is important to not re-sell your Special Event tickets if you would like them to be valid for Special Event item redemption.
